Ben joined Woking in December 2023 alongside manager Michael Doyle. The two have plenty of experience of working together, having first done so as players during their time at both Coventry City and Notts County, before coaching together as a part of Ian Burchnall's setup at Forest Green Rovers.
He made over 350 appearances during a successful playing career, which peaked with a year in the Premier League with Cardiff City in 2013/14, where he was a regular at the heart of defence. However, he started his senior career with Coventry after graduating from the club's academy, and played alongside Doyle until his teammate's departure from the club in 2009. Turner, who also had brief loan spells with Peterborough United and Oldham Athletic, remained with the club until 2011 when he joined Cardiff.
Five seasons followed in south Wales and he was a part of the team which won the Championship title in 2013. The second-half of his playing career was badly impacted by injury as he moved down the leagues with Burton Albion, Mansfield Town, Notts County - where he was reunited with Doyle - as well as Buxton and Ilkeston Town, where he became assistant manager.
He joined Doyle at Forest Green in the summer of 2022, but both men departed alongside their manager in January 2023. Just under a year later they were re-united once again at Woking.
