Woking Football Club are delighted to announce a new partnership with Surrey Wildlife Trust.
Founded in 1959, Surrey Wildlife Trust works tirelessly to conserve over 5,000ha acres of land across the region, and advises on a further 4,000ha, with the mission of protecting wildlife for all to enjoy.
Having grown from 100 members in 1960, to over 26,000 in 2019, SWT’s fantastic work is made possible by numerous conservation initiatives, volunteers, community focused projects and educating the public. Find out more about their mission
here.
This wonderful partnership will see SWT advise the club on sustainability and conservation initiatives and provide access to its
Gold Membership Scheme.
WFC will be supporting the trust with various fundraising initiatives across the 24/25 season, including their Charity Golf Day on the 9th May, and they are one of our three main charitable partners for the
Woking Weekender .
Charlie Thefaut, Senior Partnerships Officer for SWT said, “We are delighted to be partnering with a historic club in the heart of Surrey, it’s a great opportunity to influence more local people to take action for nature whilst supporting our mission for landscape scale nature recovery. Wishing the Cardinals the best of luck for the end of this season and we will be cheering you on in 2024/5!”.
Simon Jones, Business Development Director for WFC, said, “It’s wonderful to be partnering with the Surrey Wildlife Trust, we recognise the impact that football clubs can have on the local environment and welcome the chance to contribute to nature restoration in Surrey and influence our audience to take action for Nature. Corporate social responsibility, particularly sustainability, will be a huge focus next year, and I am delighted to have Surrey Wildlife Trust’s expertise moving forward”.
