Darren Sarll kept his 16-strong Cards identical from the side victorious against Maidenhead, as Woking welcomed the BT Sport cameras for the first time since late August.

The Cards almost got off to a flier, as just 40 seconds into the game, a Dan Moss cross was just deflected away, as Padraig Amond looked to pounce. But just a minute later, Chesterfield nearly drew first blood, as Andrew Dallas broke away, finding Ryan Colclough, who dragged his shot agonisingly wide.

Dallas was looking dangerous, and once again broke away with 20 minutes gone, but his shot went comfortably over the Woking goal.

Once again the Scotsman latched onto a Joe Quigley flick, but a superb challenge from Moss just as he was about to let fly prevented a huge goalscoring opportunity.

Chesterfield were given a penalty after 36 minutes following a foul by Jim Kellermann, and Ollie Banks converted down the middle to open the scoring.

A flurry of set pieces in first half added time caused the Spireites some problems, but they held their own to take a 1-0 lead into half time, Banks’ penalty the difference between the sides.

Half-time: Woking 0-1 Chesterfield

A brilliant Woking counter attack on 53 minutes combining Kellermann and Ricky Korboa saw the latter’s cross find Rohan Ince, who just slipped at the crucial moment. Quigley then fired just wide after being found by Jeff King, as the game started to open-up.

A superb save from Jaaskelainen prevented Colclough from finding the top corner after he found space on the edge of the box, before Padraig Amond lobbed the keeper, only to be wrongly flagged offside.

Dallas once again raced through on goal, but with just the keeper to beat, he somehow dinked his effort wide of the mark.

Despite some late Woking pressure, Chesterfield held on to draw level on points with the Cards, in a game where clear cut chances were hard to come by, however, there were plenty of talking points from a refereeing point of view.
