Tahvon Campbell Joins Rochdale
Woking Football Club can confirm the transfer of Tahvon Campbell to League Two’s Rochdale A.F.C. for an undisclosed fee.
Campbell, 25, joined the Club last summer before going on to score 13 goals in 21 league games for the Cards this season. His last league goals for the Club came on 23 November as he scored a brace in our 2-3 win away to Weymouth.
“Several teams had come in for Tahv before and during the window, but we had maintained our position that the player was not for sale,” said Woking Chief Executive John Katz.
“We offered Tahv a new and much-improved deal to stay with the Club that would have made him our top earner, but he had already decided that he wanted a move in this window.”
“I think our supporters will appreciate that we were faced with a decision to keep a player for the short-term and then lose him for nothing in the summer or allow him to go to Rochdale and do good business for the Club in the process,” added the Cards’ CEO.
“The lad has been a pleasure to work with,” said Woking Manager Alan Dowson. “I wish the player the best, and now we move on.”
The Club would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Tahvon for his time at the club and wish him all the best at Rochdale.
