It’s 1st December, so what better day to launch the Woking Football Club Christmas Project!
This year, we are delighted to be joining with Cardinals in the Community, the Woking Football Club Partner Charity, which means that donations are able to claim back tax to add to the fund.
Each year players visit the childrens’ wards at local hospitals to give gifts, Cards memorabilia and equipment for the hospital; it is lovely to be able to help children and families going through hard times. In addition, we help distribute food to families who are really going through it and hampers to the elderly and alone.
Last year was the biggest response ever and we have already lined up the hospitals and food deliveries. Every penny donated will go to the cause (with a small GoFundMe administration deduction) and the charity link up means we can add 20% to each gift from taxpayers.
The players will contribute, local pubs
The Olive Tree and
Dog and Pheasant will again pitch in and as fans you can donate now through the
GoFundMe page. There will also be a bucket collection at the Boreham Wood game.
Our initial target is £1500, so please give as generously as you can and get the word out. Let's help make a wonderful Christmas 2021 for those who are going through tough times.
The hardest thing at Christmas is contacting those who could do with support. If you would like us to be aware of anyone at all who needs support, please email Ian on chaplain@wokingfc.co.uk or ring 07976351891. It can be help with food, presents for kids or even just an encouraging call from one of the players of management.
