Dowse's Friday Catch-Up | 14/12/18

12:00am, Fri 14th Dec 2018
Due to technical errors, Dowse’s Catch-Up will not be posted in video form. Here’s the type up of the interview.

- Morning Dowse. Let’s start with Saturday’s result, the levels certainly didn’t drop following Swindon, did they?
"It was a good game, Weston weren’t as I expected but that was down to our high pressing. They took points off Bath and Torquay as they were given the chance to play; we didn’t allow them to do that. I’m delighted with the lads, it’s all down to them."

- I believe you had an influence on the pricing structure for the Watford game, can you explain that a little bit more?
"I believe that the tickets shouldn’t be too much higher than usual even if we would get the fans in anyway, as it would be unfair on them. When I said that to the board they agreed, they’ve been absolutely fantastic."

- A lot of fans have been saying they’re surprised it’s so low…
"It just wouldn’t be fair on them, they’ve supported the team up to this point fantastically and have helped us get here."

- Have you had any ticket requests?
"I’ve had 146, even from people I haven’t talked to for ten years! I said to the players yesterday after training that if anyone comes up from nowhere asking for tickets they’re not mates. It’s a special occasion for the club, our families and close friends so let’s keep it that way."

- Speaking of players, I hear you’ve brought in two?
"Yes and I’m speaking to a third today but I don’t think he’ll be available for Saturday. The first one is Noel Leighton, he started at Millwall but since his move to Dagenham hasn’t got any game time because of the money they keep pumping in. He was really keen to come down and play for us and that’s only a good thing."
"The second is Aaron Eyoma. Young lad from Derby, he was also very keen to play and get going and will be living with his parents whilst he’s down here with us. He’s short, direct and quick like Loza, who won’t be able to play tomorrow, so we’re looking forward to seeing him out there."

- Anything to say on the music video? The fans have surpassed the donation target.
"Hodgey has done a great job with that. The lads all loved doing it and it’s for a great cause. We all sounded terrible, except Hodgey who really went for it! The fans have done brilliantly to reach the target. We’ve also started a food bank here in my office so any donations tomorrow at the game are welcome."

- We face Maidstone tomorrow, got anything to say about them?
"Well, they played a 3-5-2 last week with Wassmer and obviously both he and Loza can’t play tomorrow so they might play 4 at the back again. They’ve struggled for goals and that’s why they signed Jake Robinson, but he’s Trophy tied. If we draw and it goes to a replay then we’re good on plastic pitches anyway, it should be a good match whatever happens. I, some of the staff and players are going to O’Neills in town after the match as they’re a new sponsor. It’d be good to see some of the supporters down there at the bar too, you’re all welcome."

- And lastly, it’s the carol service on Monday at Jubilee Square.
"Credit to the lads who are taking the time off work to make it, Martin Tyler will be there too. It should be a great event and I’m looking forward to seeing the fans and our community there."
