Woking Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Charlie Wassmer.

Charlie, 27, is a central defender who started his career in the youth setup at Hayes & Yeading United, progressing to the first team in 2010 when he made his debut in the Conference against Salisbury City aged 19.

In March 2011 he signed on loan for league leaders Crawley Town, going on to win the Conference National that season and signing on a permanent basis that summer. Charlie made 13 appearances in League Two for Crawley, and one for Dagenham & Redbridge on loan the same season.

He signed for Cambridge United in January 2013, before rejoining Hayes & Yeading at the start of the 2013/14 season. Charlie has also played for Margate, Maidenhead United, and Gosport Borough in the National League South and last season played for Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Dowse commented: "He was named in the National League South Team of the Season and was my best player last season at Hampton, so I'm delighted to get him on board. He'll be our best player this season he will, he's a leader and is everything you want from a centre-half. He'll head it, kick it, and do all the defensive duties well."

We welcome Charlie to the Cards!
