At a time when many clubs are closing their football academies, Woking Football are delighted to announce that we will be expanding ours.
In September this year, Woking Football in the Community will be running their first ever Centre of Excellence.
The aim is to monitor the local boys in the Woking and surrounding area with the aim that they will feed into the already highly successful Woking Football Club Academy when they reach the age of 16, which may lead to them being offered a chance to play for the first team.
We will not be taking players away from their existing teams, but providing extra training for those with better ability. Each squad, once formed, will play games against other Centres of Excellence or Academy?s. We hope that the training given to the boys can only improve their performance in their existing teams. Managers are also welcome to come and watch the training sessions if one of their boys is selected.
We are setting up sides from U10?s to U16?s and there will be fifteen players in a squad. Each squad will receive specialised training from UEFA B licensed or above coaches.
The training will be held at Winston Churchill School, which will start in September 2007 and each age group will train twice a month. There will be a small charge of ?3.00 per child, per session.
All local clubs have now received details if you would like further information please contact Scott Harrison on 01483 772470 Ext 228.
