Woking Football Club is delighted to welcome back Colin Fielder as the Guest of the Day in the Geoff Chapple Lounge on Tuesday 19th April for the Vanarama National League match against Grimsby Town.
Joining Woking in the Summer of ’92 from Slough Town, in a swap deal for George Friel, Colin made his debut in August of that year, in the Cards’ first season in the Football Conference. His first of nine goals for the club came a few months later in the 5-1 away win at Merthyr Tydfil.
Colin’s most notable goal however came a couple of years later, with less than three minutes to go in extra time of the ’95 FA Trophy Final against Kidderminster Harriers at Wembley Stadium, the midfielder was in the right place to head in the winning goal to give Woking, and Colin, their 2nd FA Trophy Final victory.
Colin went on to make 195 appearances for the Cards, before leaving during the first half of the ’96/97 season to join Yeovil Town.
