Following Woking on Twitter – Launching 2.50pm Sat 8th Aug - Welling
What Is It?
Twitter is like an online text service – with a limit of 140 characters – like sending small messages (known as “tweets” named after birds) to the world.
Why follow?
You will be able to follow matches through tweets sent by the twitter team – and tweets from other followers. Yes, it could be complete chaos, and fun!
In addition, we will follow the best web-sites for Conference news and the moment a news item is placed, wokingfc twitter site will be updated.
How to “follow” Woking FC on twitter by PC
Option One – Go to www.wokingfc.co.uk and click on the blue t just above photo gallery – this is updated every ten minutes
Option Two – Register as a “follower” on twitter – this is free and you do not have to tweet, you can simply follow. To do this:
1. Go to www.twitter.com/wokingfc
2. Click on join today
3. Complete the form (including the nasty security characters at the bottom)
4. Click on create my account
5. Click skip this step then click finish and you are now following WokingFC – updates will appear on your home page
How to “follow” Woking FC on twitter on your mobile phone - NB you can only receive tweets if you are on the O2 or Vodaphone networks. Twitter doesn't send to others.
Option Three - If you wish you get tweets to your mobile phone (which are free from twitter but you will pay your standard text charge so check the text contract you have in place first!):
1. In addition to Option Two above, on settings in top right corner
2. Click on devices and add your mobile number
3. Finally click on Home, then on the blue WokingFC next to the crest
4. Move cursor to the grey rectangle under Woking FC at the top of the page and click on devices update off, then under device updates. Click on (the small circle – the small dot will move from off to on), wait a few seconds, the heading will change to devices update on - you will now receive updates directly to your phone, providing you have entered your mobile number in devices as above.
Many thanks
The Twitter Team
