MERSTHAM v WOKING
Surrey Senior Cup Semi-Final
7.45pm on Tuesday 21 April 2009
Most Woking fans will no doubt be glued to the internet/radio on Tuesday evening, following the fortunes of Barrow (almost out of reach), York, Grays Athletic and Weymouth, but a hardy few will no doubt travel down to Merstham to see a presumably youthful Woking side take on the Surrey Senior Cup holders, Merstham, in the semi-final of this year?s competition. The winners will meet Ashford Town (Middx) in the final.
WOKING
With the outside chance that there may still be everything to play for next Sunday at Rushden and Diamonds, Graham Baker will presumably keep back those players in contention for the starting line-up at Nene Park. If the consequence of that is that we see another committed and enterprising performance like the one we saw at Dulwich Hamlet, few will complain.
MERSTHAM
Merstham sit in 7th place in Ryman Division One South, the same league as Dulwich Hamlet. They have won 17, drawn 9 and lost 13, scoring 55 goals and conceding 52.
Kwabena Agyei is the Moatsiders? top scorer, with 15 league goals so far in this campaign. Their squad includes Ross White, a Woking Academy graduate. Chris Boulter, the skipper, spent a season with Godalming Town in the 2006-07 season.
