Woking Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Robbie Willmott.
The versatile midfielder, 33, will join the Cards from Newport County on 1st July, on a deal through to the end of the 2023/24 season.
Willmott started his career in the academies of Buntingford Town and Cambridge United. In 2007, at the age of 17, he made his debut for the U’s in the then-Conference Premier. Over five seasons and two spells – with two seasons and 67 appearances at Luton Town in between – he made 139 appearances for Cambridge.
Robbie moved on to Newport County in 2012/13 and won promotion to League Two. He made 62 EFL appearances before moving on to Eastleigh and Bishop’s Stortford on loan in 2015/16 and permanently to Chelmsford City in 2016/17.
Willmott returned to Newport for the 2017/18 season and made a further 158 EFL appearances for the Exiles across six seasons. Robbie also turned out on loan for fellow League Two sides Exeter City in 2021 and Walsall in 2023.

“Robbie is a big signing for us. His career is decorated with EFL appearances, and his experience and character will be a good addition after some of our experienced players this summer leaving,” said Manager Darren Sarll.
“I felt last year at times we needed a more composed presence in the attacking third when finding a cross or pass, a player that is appreciative of that final picture. I believe Robbie has these qualities and a versatility to complement the team in different positions. I have been an opponent of Robbie’s previously when managing in the EFL and have seen first-hand these qualities in their true light.
“Robbie is aware of my demands, our work ethic, and that ambition to win games. He has real qualities that I believe will aid that objective,” Sarll added.
