Cards Sign Saint Jake

Woking Football Club is delighted to announce the loan signing of Jake Vokins.

The defender joins the Cards from Southampton, on a loan deal through to the end of the 2022/23 season.

Vokins, 22, has come through the academy at Southampton where he has been successful with their Premier League 2 side.

He has since come into the first-team fold at St Mary’s, making two Premier League appearances and scoring a goal in the FA Cup.

The full-back has also had loan spells at Sunderland and Ross County in League One and the Scottish Premiership respectively.



"As you can see of late, you can feel very strong in some departments, and then all of a sudden with the loss of Lofthouse for three games and Sid Nelson with his injury setback, I felt that we needed a left-footed defender to compliment what we already had." said Manager Darren Sarll.

"Then, when everyone is fit and available, we have competition for places all across the squad with a variety of different attributes.

"Jake is a player with a fantastic pedigree, even taking away the involvement he's had at Southampton in the academy and senior side. You look at his loans in the SPL and at Sunderland, this is a player with really high quality.

"However, most impressively Jake's character - his humility - and technical qualities combined with this are going to prove to be a huge asset for us." Sarll added.
