At the January Fans' Forum, a ?Fans' Army? idea was discussed ? inviting supporters who have skills, knowledge or time to get involved in helping run the club. A student from the University of Brighton, Richard Taylor, will be working at the club from 1st March to put in place a structure of how this will happen, and in preparation for this, we are now inviting supporters / members of the community of Woking and Surrey, to volunteer your time / expertise.
Please send an e-mail to Richard at richardtaylor@wokingfc.co.uk with the following information (please do this even if you have spoken with or previously written to anyone at the club on this subject):
Your name / your company name (if the company are offering to help) and contact details. Your area of expertise (see below). The times of the week you are available ? days / hours / or if it is ?ad-hoc?
Example areas of expertise:
? DIY ? General maintenance
? Plumbing
? Putting up posters in town
? Organisation (to archive photographs/programmes etc.)
? Electrician
? Information Technology
? Writing for the matchday programme
? Finance and accounts
? Picking up litter in the stadium (!) ? we do this every Sunday morning
? Stewarding on match-days (you will be trained for this)
As a club, we believe that this is a very big idea for Woking FC, which we will be implementing during 2008. We call on our supporters everywhere to get involved ? it is fun, involving, and will build a foundation on which we will achieve our aims, on and off the pitch.
