Wealdstone vs Woking
Vanarama National League
Saturday 22nd March 2025
15:00 Kick-Off
Woking will hope to get back to winning ways at a Wealdstone side just two points behind them in the table, as the business end of the season gets more intense.
Neal Ardley has been the epitome of calmness since joining the Cards, and he will be unbothered by a number of sides below Woking winning in midweek to close the gap on his side.
The signing of Sha’mar Lawson adds depth to a side still plagued by injuries, with several names such as Matt Ward, Tariq Hinds and Timi Odusina all yet to rejoin the squad.
Opposition Watch
At half time last Saturday, the Stones were 3-0 down at home to Eastleigh and looking in trouble with form hard to come by. By Tuesday night, they had picked up four points from two difficult games in Eastleigh and a successful outing at Altrincham securing a 1-0 win, with Alex Reid now having scored three in his last two games as he hopes to fire Wealdstone to safety.
Neil Gibson is becoming rapidly popular around Ruislip (and Harrow) with the former Connah’s Quay manager having picked up fourteen points from ten games including four wins. If they replicate that form in their last ten games, Wealdstone should be able to plan ahead for a sixth successive season in the National League.
Currently sitting 20th, the table is so tight that defeat on Saturday could see the Stones drop to 22nd and level on points with Fylde should results go against them, but a win could send them 18th, above the Cards and with a five point cushion on the bottom four.
Around the Ground
Ticket information is available
here.
Away supporters have been allocated the west end of the stadium; a total of 1,025 tickets which includes 369 unallocated seats in the Modu Stand and a mix of covered and uncovered terracing.
As part of Non-League Day, any Premier League or EFL season ticket holder can get a ticket for £13 by selecting 'concession'.
The Vale Social Club will be open before the game for both sets of supporters. Only Wealdstone fans will have access at half time and after the game.
Car parking on match days at Grosvenor Vale is currently limited to players, management and club officials only. There is limited street parking close to the stadium and supporters are asked to park courteously and not block or overhang driveways of residents.
We recommend that supporters travel to Grosvenor Vale via public transport as the club is remarkably well served by tube, train and bus routes.
The Cards Trust are running a supporters’ coach, book here.
Last Time Out
Cian Harries’ first half penalty was enough for Woking to pick up all three points back in September.
Last season, Wealdstone were victorious in September 2023 by the same scoreline thanks to Sam Bowen, before Jayden Mundle-Smith’s goal was cancelled out by Charley Kendall in a 1-1 draw in February 2024.
The sides have met twelve times since 2018, with Woking victorious five times, Wealdstone four and three draws. Of course, the most memorable of those games was the 3-2 playoff semi final win in May 2019 at the Laithwaite, when goals from Moussa Diarra, Max Kretzschmar and Jake Hyde turned around a two goal deficit to send the Cards into the playoff final.
