Woking Football Club were saddened to hear of the recent passing away of Mick Jermey at the age of 84.
Mick was immersed in local football and well known at Woking FC. After his playing career at Westfield was ended through injury he turned to refereeing with high points being running the line at the 1981 League Cup final and in an international game in Czechoslovakia. Mick was well known within Surrey FA circles and turned as well to mentoring emerging referees.
Until recent years Mick was very involved at Woking in volunteering, advising and working with Phil Ledger in running the Woking FC Boardroom. Woking was very dear to him.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
The funeral is at Woking Crematorium on Friday 17th January at 2pm and the family want it to be a celebration of Mick’s life so the wearing of club colours is appropriate
We will also be remembering Mick Jermey at our next memorial match on Saturday 18th January
