Solihull Moors vs Woking
Vanarama National League
Wednesday 23rd October 2024
19:45 Kick-Off
Woking make their second trip to the West Midlands in a matter of days when they visit Solihull Moors at the ARMCO Arena.
Following defeat to Tamworth, Michael Doyle will hope that the injury suffered by Will Jaaskelainen in the warm up doesn’t rule the Finnish ‘keeper out of this one, whilst he could look to rotate with this being the second of three games in a week.
Opposition Watch
Solihull Moors’ heartbreaking end to last season saw them lose on penalties twice at Wembley, in the play-off final to Bromley and the FA Trophy final to Gateshead.
As is typical with sides who miss out on promotion, they suffered a slow start to this season, but eight points from their last four games means they’re just two points outside the playoff places in 10th before this fixture.
A busy summer saw influential midfielder Callum Maycock and playmaker Joe Sbarra depart for EFL clubs AFC Wimbledon and Doncaster Rovers, with loanee Tyrese Shade signing permanently for Eastleigh. The likes of experienced striker Conor Wilkinson, former Notts midfielder John Bostock and Barnet ‘keeper Laurie Walker joined Andy Whing’s side.
Michael Adu-Poku also joined recently, making his debut on loan from Watford in a 4-3 win over Barnet on the weekend, earning plenty of praise as well as a spot in team of the week. Jack Stevens, with six goals in ten appearances is top scorer for the Moors, with former Woking striker Tahvon Campbell making just four appearances thus far.

Last Time Out
Solihull claimed all three points back in January thanks to a 3-0 victory over the Cards, with Woking having won just once at the ARMCO Arena, that was in April 2022 when Ricky Korboa got the only goal.
