Tamworth vs Woking
Vanarama National League
Saturday 19th October 2024
15:00 Kick-Off

Woking return to National League action with an intriguing trip to Tamworth.

Following progression in the cup being rewarded with a home fixture against League One strugglers Cambridge, Michael Doyle will hope for another positive result in the Midlands against arguably the surprise package thus far.

If Timi Odusina is available, Woking may have a full squad to choose from for this one, which would be a big boost as the fixtures start coming thick and fast.

Opposition Watch
National League North champions Tamworth have enjoyed an incredible rise under boss Andy Peaks, with back-to-back titles taking them out of step 3 and into mid table in the National League.

A plum FA Cup tie against former Premier League side Huddersfield Town on Friday 1st November should whet the appetite for the Lambs to continue an impressive run of form starting with the visit of the Cards, and having won five of their last seven in all competitions, including three at home out of four, this will be a test for Woking.

In Dan Creaney, they have a striker who has hit form, with five in his last five powering the Lambs to 14th, one point and one place above the Cards. Despite only conceding 29 times last season, they’ve already let 23 goals in this time around, with a 7-0 defeat to Barnet a real blip on what has been a start to savour for the pre-season relegation favourites.
