15:00 Kick-Off

Woking aim to bounce back after defeat to Rochdale on Saturday when they make the trip up to Essex to take on Braintree Town.

Following a flat performance in the North West, Michael Doyle will look to make changes, although due to the absence of Deon Moore on international duty with Guyana, he will have to make them in the forward department. Raheem Conte is in line to make his first appearance since joining on loan from Cardiff.

Opposition Watch

Promoted through the back door of the National League South play-offs despite barely being in them last season, Braintree are desperate to avoid a repeat of their last season at this level, where they were effectively relegated by the turn of the year.

Angelo Harrop has signed no less than 17 new players ranging from Woking loanee Matt Robinson (unable to play this fixture) to talisman John Akinde and Boreham Wood centre back Jamal Fyfield. This impressive overhaul has unsurprisingly struggled to pay off with instant results apart from an excellent 2-1 home win over Aldershot, spearheaded by dangerman Kyrell Lisbie.

Lisbie, signed from Cray Valley Paper Mills impressed scouts up and down the land last season with his exploits in a fantastic FA Cup run, signing for the Iron in the summer. His double defeated the Shots and he backed it up with a goal at Solihull in a 1-1 draw, one of three consecutive draws meaning Braintree are technically four unbeaten going into this one.

Around the Ground

Tickets are available to purchase online here, however, this is more expensive than buying on the gate due to booking fees.

Away supporters will be segregated, and will enter through gates 7 to 8.

Due to engineering works, there are no trains from Witham to Braintree, so the journey by train will be much longer.

Last Time Out

These two sides haven’t met since March 2017, when two Delano Sam-Yorke goals and one from Kieran Murtagh defeated the hosts 3-1, as Braintree would be relegated from the National League that season.

In 14 meetings between these sides, Woking have won three, there have been four draws and Braintree have won seven times. Woking have won just once at Braintree.
