Woking Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Sid Nelson.
The defender joins the Cards from Northampton Town, on a deal through to the end of the 2022/23 season.
Nelson, 26, came through the Millwall academy, where he went on to make 26 appearances across the Championship and League One.
The centre-back also has experience in League Two, with loan moves to the likes of Newport County, Yeovil Town, Chesterfield and Tranmere Rovers, who he eventually signed for permanently in 2019.
After three total seasons at Prenton Park, Nelson joined Northampton Town last summer where he made two appearances in an injury-hit season.
"Sid has some very unique qualities in that he's still chronologically a young player, but displays lots of old-fashioned qualities in the way that he defends," said Manager Darren Sarll.
“He's very destructive, very committed, and a player that's going to risk life and limb in order to keep clean sheets. As we've seen over the past 24 hours, and the past couple of years, the value of a clean sheet to Woking must be the highest priority in everything we do.
"Sid's a player that I've seen play for a lot of years in the EFL, he's got good experience in promotion-winning teams, he's a winner. and he also gives us that balance of having a younger defender.
"He chose us over many EFL clubs in order to join the project that we've laid out in front of him." Sarll added.
