Phew! Three points at last! The Cards grabbed their first win for nine games at Kingfield this evening thanks to a well-taken goal from Matt Pattison (pictured) in the 20th minute.
Missing Tom Hutchinson, Paul Lorraine and Marvin Morgan, the Cards started with Matt Ruby in central defence, Jerome Maledon on the right of the defence and with Gez Sole partnering Joe Gatting up front.
Woking had to fight hard for their win, showing great commitment throughout. Matt Ruby shone at the back, while Gez Sole showed much maturity in shouldering the additional responsibility up front, working tirelessly and causing considerable problems for the Fleet defence with his pace and movement. Matt Pattison was on good form too.
Raphael Nade, on his return to Kingfield, put the ball in the net in the second half following a poor kick from Nick Gindre but was adjudged offside, while Liam Marum, on as a substitute, had a great chance to grab a second goal near the end but contrived to miss when clean through on the keeper.
