The board of Woking Football Club would like to congratulate Kate Davies for her well-deserved Woking Sports Personality of the Year award.
The following statement is from Woking Council.
Each year in Woking, we host a Sports Awards covering many different areas from Coach of the Year, Unsung Hero and Sports Personality.
This year, given the circumstances we have had to postpone our usual awards night and come to the award winners individually.
This award is being presented to not only a fantastic player but also an unsung hero. This individual leads and supports in all areas of the club. She plays week-in-week-out, totalling over 70 appearances at Woking alone, rarely misses training and has had a huge part to play in the teams recent successes, which if it wasn’t for COVID-19 could have been far more.
Her experience on the pitch has been vital, leading, covering, tackling and motivating whilst in many instances also having to manage the side, ensuring others have game time, collect subs, lead the warm up, buy medical supplies, check the balls are pumped up.
On top of this, she is a fantastic role model to everyone, not only in the way she conducts herself but also through the support she provides to other players and management when times aren’t so good.
This is our way of saying “thank you” for all of your efforts, your support, your commitment, your leadership and most of all for being our skipper!
This award is The Sports Personality of The Year Award, and if you hadn’t already guessed, it is awarded to Kate Davies!
