Woking boss Frank Gray admits he did not need to think twice about handing Grays Athletic an equalising goal in their 1-1 draw on Wednesday evening.
Woking led when Matt Pattison inadvertently put his attempted pass into the net following an injury break.
Gray ordered his side to allow Grays' Ben Watson to score from the restart.
"I didn't consider anything else but letting Grays score. It was the right thing to do in the circumstances," Gray told the Thurrock Gazette.
"If I hadn't done it I don't think I would have lived with it and I would hope that it's something that everyone who is right-thinking in football would do."
Similar events - involving an "accidental" goal followed by an unchallenged equaliser - occurred in a Carling Cup tie between Yeovil and Plymouth in August 2004, and a reserve game between Millwall and Bournemouth in February 2002.
