Woking Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Inih Effiong.
Inih, 26, is a 6ft 3” striker who spent the first half of the 2016/17 season at Biggleswade Town, scoring an outstanding 23 goals for the Southern Premier League club, which earned him a move to Barrow AFC in the Vanarama National League in January.
He started his career with St Albans City, where he played against the Cards in the Conference South, which he did again when he moved to Boreham Wood. He’s so far scored 95 league goals in his career, his first Vanarama National League goal came in March in Barrow’s 2-1 victory against Tranmere Rovers.
Inih on what he brings to the team: “Well the most important thing that people care about as a striker is goal scoring, and I do score goals, so that’s one thing I can bring to Woking. Also obviously my physicality, I’m a player that does like to get stuck in with defenders, I’m not one to shy away from a battle with defenders. I can run behind, I’m quick, but I can also hold up the ball, so I’ve got a range of abilities that I can actually bring to Woking.
I’m not just your typical number 9 that is just big and stands still, I do like to move around and get assists and more importantly goals as well.”
Anthony Limbrick added: “We have known about Inih for while now and are really pleased to have him secured for next season. He has great physical attributes and having scored many goals at the level below this is a good opportunity to prove himself here at Woking Football Club.”
We welcome Inih to Woking!
We’ll shortly have an interview with Inih, visit either our Facebook page or Twitter at 5.30pm!
