Woking Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Richard Orlu.
Richard, 28, is a central defender who started his career at Staines Town, he had loan spells at Harrow Borough, Walton Casuals and Northwood before breaking into the first team in 2010, where he played against the Cards.
In December 2011 he signed for Farnborough in the Conference South, before joining Canvey Island for the start of the 2012/13 season where he started every match, picking up 6 man of the match awards for the Gulls.
He earned a move to Dover Athletic in the summer of 2013, becoming a regular in the side during the second half of the season and helped the Whites achieve promotion to the Vanarama National League.
Richard commented on his move to the Cards: “The style & the setup of Woking at the moment, the ambition of the club, it really suited what I wanted and the changes I wanted to make to improve. I want to improve, I want to push on, I wanted that new challenge and Woking I felt was a very good place for that new challenge.”
Woking first team manager Anthony Limbrick said: “Richard is experienced at this level and most of all he is a winner. I felt his style fitted our philosophy and I’m excited to work with players who are hungry and have a desire to develop.”
We welcome Richard to the club.
We’ll shortly have an interview with Richard, visit either our Facebook page or Twitter at 1pm!
