Camberley Town 2 – 5 Woking
FA Youth Cup 2nd Qualifying Round
7.45pm Thursday 6th October 2016
Woking started the game with confidence, getting the ball forward at every opportunity. It was a surprise when the home side took the lead after eight minutes, a corner was swung in and a header was judged to have crossed the line. It only took Woking five minutes to get level, the ball was crossed in from the left, Josh Greenleaf headed back across goal into the net.
Playing down the slope the young cards had most of the play. They went ahead with a firm volley from Billy Montague from just outside the box. On twenty-five minutes they went further ahead, a neat flick from Will Jacobs finding the corner of the net.
The second period was only five minutes old before Jacobs found the net again. Camberley managed to pull one back and for a time having their best spell of the match, pressed forward. The Woking defence stood up well, led by Josh Mambo. He has the physique of an adult, and not much got past him.
The visitors’ passing had the edge throughout. The result was sealed after eighty minutes with Josh Greenleaf knocking home a loose ball.
Woking have been drawn at home to Radstock Town in the next round.
