Woking take on Swindon Town on Saturday 23 July at the Laithwaite Community Stadium. The weather looks set fair so why not come down to see how Garry Hill’s squad for the coming season is taking shape. Of course, Swindon will (hopefully) be featuring our very own John Goddard, last season’s top scorer for Woking and a player who has done himself and the club proud with his development while with us. It is typical of John that he tweeted, after Swindon’s friendly against Reading on Tuesday, in which he scored, “Great feeling getting my first goal at County Ground tonight, plenty of positives and plenty to work on !
On leaving Woking, John said “I’m so happy to have joined Swindon Town FC, but need to thank all the supporters, staff and players at Woking FC. Your support has been incredible since I joined and I have been proud to represent the club. I wish everyone involved at the club all the very best and will be cheering you on from a distance. This is our chance to say goodbye and good luck to John. Come on down !
Please note that Woking will play in their 3rd kit, blue/black stripes, black shorts & socks on Saturday. This is due to the fact that Swindon have not received their away kit from Puma. Swindon will play in red and white.
