The Cards Trust want to say a big thank you to all the Woking fans who contributed to the Big Push over Christmas and New Year.
The 2 bucket collections raised £1100, there has been an £80 a month increase in regular donations and a generous supporter donated £1500. With a couple more collections to come and also a fundraising event in March The Cards Trust are pleased to confirm that we will be contributing an additional £10,000 to the club before the end of the season! All the sums contributed will be exchanged for shares in the club and the Trust remains Woking FC’s second biggest shareholder
This sum will be in addition to the £30,000 committed to Boost the Budget and £40,000 is a terrific effort. Club Director Rosemary Johnson said ‘ The Trust have done a marvelous job in raising extra funds for the club and must be congratulated’ while Club Chairman Mike Smith commented ‘an absolutely outstanding effort – congratulations to everyone involved.’ In addition the Trust has confirmed its intention to contribute a minimum further £30,000 to the playing budget next season. Again it is hoped that this will be increased during the year.
Thanks are due in particular to all the fans who faithfully contribute to Boost the Budget. If you are able to start contributing monthly or perhaps even increase your contribution a little it will be put to very good use.
We also want to thank those who contributed to the buckets and have supported fundraising events such as the Race Nights, Quiz Nights and the Beer Festival.
Thank you also to those who shook a bucket at the games or helped with the counting – Rupert Phillips, Alan Barnes, Judith and George Burnett, Sue Connor, Brian Caffarey, Peter Holdsworth, Carmela Sole, Daniel Trillo, David Hough and Ian Nicholson (apologies for any omissions).
Finally congratulations to David Barton who was drawn out of the hat in the Boost the Budget draw in December. David and a companion will be guests in the Hospitality lounge at the Alfreton game but it gets better! It’s also his birthday and 4 other friends and family will be joining them for a special day. Enjoy your day David and thank you for your support.
