With Woking currently top of the SYL West Division every team they play wants to take their scalp and Fleet certainly made their intentions clear right from the start.

Playing down the hill Fleet threw the kitchen sink at the Woking goal from the first whistle and to be fair Woking were pinned back in their own half for long periods attempting to soak up the pressure.

Some eleven minutes in and the Fleet right-winger was more determined to get to the ball and lobbed a long hopeful ball to the far post; the Woking defenders were nowhere to be seen as the Fleet striker headed home.

On twenty five minutes Fleet could have gone 2-0 up as Woking hesitancy allowed a Fleet striker to drift past the last line of defence and fire off a shot, fortunately it drifted wide.

On thirty-one minutes Woking drew level, the ball was crossed into the box and Chris Dean at the far post rolled the ball over the line.

The tackles were flying in from Fleet all over the park and it needed Captain on the night Joe Mcnerny to lead by example and step up to the challenge, on forty three minutes he came up against a similarly no holds barred Fleet player as Joe made one of the most ferocious but fair tackles I have seen at this level.

Half Time Fleet 1 Woking 1

With the slope now in their favour most of the offensive plays in the second period came from Woking: on eighteen minutes a Lewis Benson pass to Pekan Samsdeen was threaded through to Ricardo Williams who fired over; three minutes later the energetic Pekan Samsdeen took the ball down some 18 yards out and fired a powerful volley that crashed off the crossbar; and on thirty five minutes a nicely flighted ball from Sam Robinson led to Joe Mcnerny heading just over the bar.

To be fair Fleet battled hard to get some sort of result in this game but with just 3 minutes left the ball was hooked into the Fleet box by Delano Sam-Yorke, once headed out it was hooked back by Luke Baker and as Ricardo Williams challenged the ball fell nicely to Maxwell Nzeadi who stroked the ball home into the far left hand corner of the goal.

Fleet 1 Woking 2

Woking went on to create two further chances but neither Pekan Samsdeen nor Delano Sam-Yorke could quite find a finish.

Full time Fleet 1 Woking 2

Bit of a battle this one but the Woking youngsters, all of them in their first season with the Club, managed to dig out a result. There is little doubt about the Man of the Match, he plays with the bravery of a lion and has the talent to match.
