Woking Football Club held their annual dinner and presentation evening on Saturday, for the 5th consecutive year it took place at the H. G. Wells Centre in Woking.

First Team Awards

The Woking Football Club ‘Player of the Season’ award, as voted for by the fans, went to Josh Payne, with the England C regular also picking up the Players’ Player of the Season award.

Josh has made 45 appearances for the first team this season, and has been inspirational in midfield, playing a key role in the club’s 9th place Skrill Premier finish.

Scott Rendell picked up two awards on the night, the first being the Woking News & Mail Player of the Season, presented by editor & Kingfield regular Tom Oxtoby. The striker also received the Manager’s Player of the Season award from Garry Hill.

Joining, at first, on loan from Luton Town in September Scott has scored an impressive 17 league goals in 34 league appearances, and 23 goals in all competitions. He formed a lethal partnership with Jack Marriott, on loan from Ipswich Town. Scott’s loan finished at the end of 2013, but after being released by Luton Town Scott signed for the Cards at the end of January and continued his excellent goal scoring form alongside Jack.

Garry Hill has said this season that Joe has developed into one of the best central defenders in the Skrill Premier.
