Woking Football in the Community are setting up their first ever Centre of Excellence. The aim is to monitor the local boys in the Woking and surrounding area with the ambition that they will feed into the already established Woking Football Club Academy when they reach the age of sixteen, which may lead to them being offered a chance to play for the first team.
We wish to emphasise that we will not be taking players away from their existing teams, but providing extra training for those with better ability. Each squad, once formed, will play games against other Centre?s of Excellence or Academy?s. We hope that the training given to the boys can only improve their performance in their existing teams, managers are also welcome to come and watch the training sessions if one of their boys are selected.
We will be setting up sides from U10?s to U16?s and there will be fifteen players in a squad. Each squad will receive specialised training from UEFA B licensed or above coaches. The training will be held at Winston Churchill School, which will start in September 2007 and each age group will train twice a month. There will be a small charge of ?3.00 per child per session.
We will be holding trials on the following dates
U10?s March 30th 4.00pm-6.30pm
U11?s April 20th 4.00pm-6.30pm
U12?s April 27th 4.00pm 6.30pm
U13?s May 4th 4.00pm-6.30pm
You will need to arrive at 4.00pm to register in time for a 4.30pm start. There will be 40 players in each age group invited for the trials.
We would like teams from each age group to send names of players (max 3 per team) together with positions that they feel have the ability for this standard. Contact will then be made with you. Your replies are required by March 9th
