Given the goal scoring opportunities that the Woking youngsters create it has been on the ?cards? for some time that the u19?s would give someone a trouncing, unfortunately for Cirencester this was to be the day.

Woking went for the jugular from the very first whistle as Dan Evans floated in a free kick, which was met by a powerful header from Joe Mcnerny, the Cirs? keeper did well to push the ball away at full stretch.

On thirteen minutes the seeds of the onslaught that was to come were sewn as Ben Zatwardnicki together with the ball were blatantly and illegally pushed into the net by two Cirs? strikers - however the referee could see no infringement!

Injustice is a powerful motivator and the Woking youngsters to a man raised their game to another level. It took just 5 minutes for Dan Evans to fire in a corner from the left that was directed towards goal by the head of Joe Mcnerny, the keeper looked favourite until Nuno Gourgel with his back towards goal twisted and turned to deftly guide his header into the roof of the net.

Cirs? were ?giving it some? and it needed a moment of pure class to quell their appetite. On cue, twenty-six minutes in, Billy Hussey fired in a beautiful 25-yard curling chip shot that found the top corner ? poetry in motion this one.

Cirs? are no shrinking violets and the tackles came flying in, but this Woking squad are not lads to be intimidated or messed with, if the opposition want a battle then a battle they will get, the two first year lads at centre half Sam Towe and Joe Mcnerny together with Billy Hussey and Kevin Maclaren in midfield were particularly fired up.

On thirty-nine minutes Reis Stanislaus fed the ball through to Nuno Gourgel and another 25-yard effort found the net.

The Cirs? tackling became even more reckless but Woking let their football do the talking as on forty two minutes Dan Evans fed a quality ball down the left to the on fire Nuno Gourgel who delivered the ball across the box at pace to find Jonny Targett powering in at the far post, Jonny did not disappoint.

The game should have been over but seconds before the half time whistle a worldy forty-yard skied effort from a Cirs? player found Ben Zatwardnicki wrong footed and the ball somehow found the net.

Half Time: Cirencester 2 Woking 4

The second half started with a scenario whereby the next goal could potentially change the course of the game, however it took just three minutes for a great lob from Sam Towe to be met by a well timed run from Nuno Gourgel and today Nuno?s finishing was impeccable as he calmly stroked the ball home for his hat trick.

Five minutes later and a pass from Reis Stanislaus found Nuno Gourgel wide right, Nuno whipped the ball into the box and Billy Hussey connected to loop the ball over the Cirs? keeper.

Cirs? were getting increasingly frustrated and continued with even more reckless tackling. Kevin Maclaren and Billy Hussey showed real class in midfield as they soaked up the tackles and repaid them with interest; Ashley Quashie-Pownall and Dan Evans were forging a good partnership down the left whilst Jide Ogunbote and Jonny Targett were doing likewise down the right; Reis Stanislaus and Nuno Gourgel were rampant up front whilst the central defensive pairing of Sam Towe and Joe Mcnerny were resolute and commanding in defence.

It was time for changes so twelve minutes into the period Reis Stanislaus and Billy Hussey came off to be replaced by Luke Taylor and Mark Brown.

We had been served up some clinical and quality finishing but there was still more to come as that man Nuno Gourgel whipped in a ball from the left to Luke Taylor who controlled the ball beautifully at a difficult height to fire the ball home with his left foot high to the keepers right.

Twenty-two minutes in and Ross White came on for Ashley Quashie-Pownall.

Thereafter Luke Taylor scored another quality goal only for it to be ruled offside.

To their credit Cirs? did not give up and with 12 minutes remaining the Woking back line was caught out by a defence splitting pass and with Ben Zatwardnicki scrambling to get back on his line the ball was crossed in from the right for a simple tap in.

Kevin Maclaren had been battling all game and credit must be given to his apparent quiet professionalism despite picking up a split lip for his troubles, it was therefore fitting and appropriate that with just three minutes remaining he picked up the ball some 22 yards out and fired an unstoppable shot off the inside of the right hand post.

Full time Cirencester 3 Woking 8

We had been served up a feast of eleven goals and whilst the Cirencester bench may have been critical of their team the Woking lads denied Cirs? time and space all over the park and gave us a demonstration of clinical finishing.

An abundance of good performances across the board most noteworthy must be the performance of Kevin Maclaren in midfield together with the three goals and three assists from Nuno Gourgel.
