Woking entertain Walton and Hersham in the Surrey Senior Cup this evening. The Swans are currently second bottom of the Ryman Premier Division.
LAST SEASON
The Swans finished in 9th place in the league last season, winning 19 times and losing 16. They finished 10 points off the play offs with Bobby Traynor ending up at leading scoring, scoring 12 goals in 21 games.
THE WALTON AND HERSHAM SQUAD
Former Woking striker Chris Sharpling played 2 games for the Swans this season, but Walton usually rely on a strike force of Danny Ekoku and the wonderfully named Freedom Pigott. Ekoku, who is the nephew of former Wimbledon striker Efan Ekoku, is a recent signing from Gravesend and Northfleet and was previously on the books at Bradford City. Pigott is another recent signing who has previously been with Croydon Athletic and Tooting and Mitcham. Former Card Clint Davies is usually between the sticks, and Sierra Leone born player Osman Sesay, on loan from Margate, runs the midfield.
RESULTS SO FAR
After the resignation of Alan Dowson in October 2006 former Gillingham first team coach Bobby Paterson took over after a long search for a new manager. An assistant manager was appointed a few weeks later, Les Cleevely-the former Carshalton Athletic goalkeeper where he made over 500 appearances for them. The Swans are currently second bottom of the league after winning just 4, and losing 18. Ebden Allen was the current leading scorer, with 5, but he has now left the club.

The Cards secured a 3-0 win away from home in the penultimate pre-season friendly at Stompond Lane. Three second half goals from Giuseppe Sole, Matt Ruby and Steve Ferguson sealed a convincing victory. The Cards took the lead ten minutes into the second-half when Lambu chased down the right and hooked in a cross for Sole to turn in from inside the six-yard box. With ten minutes remaining the Swans goalkeeper had to make a good tip over, and from the resulting corner Matt Ruby headed home from close-in at the far post. In the final minute Liam Cockerill set up Steve Ferguson who slotted home from the left to make it 3-0.
