Woking Football Club's Christmas Project has, yet again, been a big success.
On Tuesday afternoon the first team squad, ably assisted by KC Kat, visited the children's wards at the Royal Surrey in Guildford and St Peter's in Chertsey. The players signed cards and programmes, chatted to the children and their families and gave out gifts.
In addition we donated DVD's for use in the ward play areas and each family was invited to attend a future game as the club's guests. The visits are now a key part of the run up to Christmas on the wards and highly appreciated.
The club also distributed 10 Christmas hampers to local families – again this is gathering momentum and actually there were more requests for hampers than we were able to accomodate.
We would like to especially highlight:
- The players and management of the team for taking time out of a busy schedule for the visits and donating financially
- Sue Wright for organising and making up the hampers
- You, the fans, for your generosity at the recent bucket collection
Thank you, one and all and Happy Christmas
