Woking v QPR XI
Pre-season friendly
3pm on Saturday 21 July 2012
The Cards’ third pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon sees the visit of a QPR XI, no doubt comprising some of their very talented reserves. Woking fans will be hoping that Garry Hill’s side can emulate their encouraging display against Crawley Town midweek when the Cards ran out 1-0 winners thanks to an early strike from triallist Kieron St Aimie.
WOKING
Cards fans will be delighted with today’s news that Mike Cestor and Lee Sawyer, both of whom have previously performed well for the Club, have signed contracts for next season. Garry Hill has indicated that his priorities now are to further strengthen midfield and up front. In the Crawley match Garry and Steve were also able to have a second look at Rene Steer, Jesse Waller-Lassen, Greg Mills and Mark Scott. It remains to be seen how many of that group and St Aimie will stay in the reckoning or whether other new faces will be on show on Saturday.
QPR
The R’s are expected to field their reserve side for this fixture – later matches include visits to Leyton Orient and Aldershot Town, so we can expect the Cards to be given a tough test. Last year’s encounter produced an entertaining 4-3 win for QPR after Woking had been 2-0 up at half-time.
