Aswad Thomas

Following an incident in the game v Weston on 12th March 2011 Aswad suffered an injury to his right arm. Although minor at the time, it had begun to swell and become hot by the Monday when he sought advice from us. He was put on oral antibiotics. However, these failed to deal with the infection in his elbow.

Aswad visited the Accident and Emergency department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital on the advice of Jack Taylor. He was seen there by me and one of my medical colleagues. As a result of that consultation he was immediately admitted as an inpatient for a course of treatment to deal with the elbow problem. Fortunately, the treatment managed to improve the situation and he was discharged on Sunday afternoon with a home management plan to deal with the residual problems he has.
