Suburban Champions Cup Semi-Final 1st Leg
Tuesday 26th October 2010

Woking had the majority of play in the first half, first team striker Dave Gilroy (pictured) coming close to scoring after just 2 minutes - Sam Charles picked out Gilroy on the left hand side, who dummied the ball to Ola Sogbanmu, who played the ball back to Gilroy central to goal, his shot just going wide of the post.

Uxbridge forward Adrian Dinham had a great chance to score 12 minutes in. Breaking the offside trap, he ran towards goal, with Matt Pegler rushing out to close him down Fortunately for Woking, his shot went into the top of the Leslie Gosden Stand.

Minutes later Gilroy got the first goal for the Cards. Finding himself unmarked in the box, he took his time and side-footed the ball past keeper Karl Gerald.

Woking nearly doubled their lead a couple of minutes later, Rob Carr crossing to Ollie Palmer, whose volley across the face of goal just went past the far post.

21 minutes in Rob Carr made a great solo run down the left, and fired into the top corner to make it 2-0 to the home side.

Seconds before half-time Jeff Kalejaiye got one back for Uxbridge: inside the box, he turned and his shot went in off the post.

Half-Time: Woking 2 Uxbridge 1

5 minutes into the 2nd half Chris Richards had a header cleared off the line from a Carr corner.

Uxbridge drew level in the 61st minute, Michael Burton bursting through the middle and curling it around Pegler from just outside the area.

Gilroy restored the Cards' lead 3 minutes later, tapping in from a couple of yards out after Francis Quarm had his shot saved.

Sogbanmu had the ball in the back of the net 71 minutes in, heading in a free-kick from Quarm, but the linesman had his flag up for offside.

Josh Griffiths, just on for Ollie Palmer in the 88th minute, and with his first involvement in the game, ran down the right with the ball, and just inside the area he fired past the keeper to make it 5 for the Cards.

With Griffiths' next touch after scoring he played a great through-ball to Gilroy, whose first shot deflected onto the crossbar but he headed home the rebound for his 4th goal.
