The young Cards started with lone striker Jack Mazzone up front in a 4-5-1 formation, midfielder George Frith just behind him. For the first 20 minutes there weren't any real chances for either side on what was a wet and slippery pitch after a heavy downpour an hour before kick-off.

The game livened up when a throw-in to the Leatherhead keeper, Jamie Holloway, was charged down by Mazzone, and from a tight angle the ball rolled across the face of goal with Leatherhead only just clearing it in time.

Five minutes later Woking got the opener, Mazzone again making a tackle to the side of the goal and the ball deflected off the Leatherhead defender and over the head of Holloway on the goal-line.

On the half hour mark the Cards had another chance, this time from a corner, Mazzone flicking the ball back over to an unmarked Phil Moore, whose header bounced off the crossbar and away to safety.

A series of corners for Leatherhead nearly resulted in an equaliser, with the Woking defence having to put in a few blocks, including a vital one from centre-back Ryan Alderman.

Half Time: Woking 1 Leatherhead 0

Woking started the 2nd half with a fast tempo, Mazzone having a shot after only 20 seconds, but it deflected off Frith for a goal-kick.

The Cards doubled their lead in the 52nd minute, Jordan Junior Smith playing the ball through to Frith, who, on the edge of the area and with Holloway rushing out to close him down, chipped the ball over the goalkeeper.

Adam Bicknell came on for Woking in the 56th minute, and less than 5 minutes later he set up Frith for his 2nd. Bicknell picked the ball up on the right and, after one shot rebounded to him, he passed the ball to Frith, who took his time and slotted it to the right of Holloway from 5 yards out.

Mazzone nearly got his 2nd goal of the night on the 70th minute, right back Aaron Turner playing a low cross to him, and Mazzone shot from the edge of the area, but it just went inches passed the post. Left winger Junior Smith went close minutes later, his shot from 35 yards out smashing back off the crossbar.

Leatherhead keeper Holloway pulled off two saves in the 75th minute, the first from Mazzone, who tried to curl one past him from 20 yards out, and then from Bicknell inside the area.

Woking got a free-kick with just over 10 minutes to go, Bicknell spotting that the wall wasn't lined up quite right and from 25 yards driving the ball into the roof of the net to make it four goals to the home side.

That sealed the victory for Woking, who now have a trip to Colchester United's all-seater stadium in the 1st Round Proper.
