The Cards travel to Oxford City on Wednesday evening for their next pre-season friendly game.
WOKING
The pre-season games so far have been pretty experimental, providing Kim with his first opportunity to see existing squad members playing in relatively competitive games and, in addition, a chance to try out his own new signings, various trialists and Academy players. In that sense they?ve probably fulfilled their purpose and the feedback seems to be that Kim has a much clearer idea about the strengths and weaknesses of the players on contract ? as well as confirming the case for signing at least one trialist, Patrice Mondon-Konan, who looks like he might be the answer to our long-standing problems at right back. It would be surprising if we don?t see several more changes in the next few days.
From here on in, we can expect to see a greater focus on his likely shortlist for 9 August ? and it would help if the injured quartet of Tom Hutchinson, Matt Pattison, Gez Sole and Abdou El Kholti, all of whom must be in strong contention for a starting place, were soon ready to return to the fray. Judging by the number of goals we?ve conceded from set pieces, Tom in particular seems to have been sorely missed.
OXFORD CITY
Oxford, managed by Justin Merritt, were promoted to the Southern League Premier Division at the end of last season, finishing 4th in the South and West Division and beating Uxbridge 1-0 in the play-offs.
Their pre-season results so far have been:
