Woking FC is teaming up with SCRIB to help find Woking's Yes You Can champion.

Yes You Can is a local recycling challenge organised by SCRIB, the steel can recycling information bureau, an education initiative which promotes sustainability in schools.

Endorsed by Woking FC, Yes You Can is offering a winning school pupil a prize of:

A family match ticket for two adults and two children and player visit to the winner's school from Woking FC

There are also two runners up prizes of:

SCRIB primary learning resources and goody bags for the runners up's schools

The prizes will go to whichever three Woking school pupils can prove their green credentials by designing a colourful recycling poster!

To enter, pupils simply have to design a poster on an A4 piece of paper which promotes recycling. The poster must feature steel cans somewhere within the design. Then, simply write the name of the pupil and their school on the back of the poster and send it to Yes You Can Woking competition, Woking FC Community Department, Kingfield Stadium, Kingfield, Woking, Surrey, GU22 9AA or email them to chris.community@wokingfc.co.uk by 08th November 2009.

Three winning pupils' designs will be chosen by SCRIB and Woking FC and the winner will receive a fantastic family match ticket for two adults and two children and a player visit from Woking FC. The two runners up will receive SCRIB learning resources for their school covering science and the environment.

With recycling suffering its first major dip as an industry because of the recession, it is vitally important that the education of recycling remains strong and SCRIB education officer, Nicola Bennett, is looking forward to seeing the entries.

Nicola commented: “I am delighted to team up with Woking FC, who already work hard in the community to promote sustainability. By asking children to creatively think about recycling, we can ensure sustainability is at the front of their minds and I'm sure the schools in Woking will produce some fantastic entries.

Woking FC's Community Coach, Chris Sexton, said: “Woking FC is more than happy to support the SCRIB project. It is important for local schools and children to be aware of the importance of recycling, and how it can help our environment.'
