The Cards’ third pre-season friendly sees them make the short trip to Wey Court to take on Godalming Town.
WOKING
Please see the update from Graham Baker following Tuesday’s game against a Fulham XI. Graham has confirmed that tonight’s side will contain a mix of trialists, contracted players and Academy players.
GODALMING TOWN
The Gs had a very successful season in 2008-09, finishing in 9th place in the Ryman League Division One South, their highest-ever placing, and reaching the 3rd Qualifying Round of the FA Cup. They took part last month in an international futsal tournament in Meknes, Morocco, Manager Chuck Martini’s home town. They acquitted themselves very well, especially considering their lack of experience of futsal, narrowly missing making the finals. In their opening pre-season games they beat Combined Counties sides Mole Valley SCR 6-1 away and Molesey 5-0 at home. Williams notched two goals in both games, with Glen Stanley grabbing three. In their third game they lost 4-1 to Southern League side Burnham last Saturday in a game played at Charterhouse, with Glen Stanley scoring again. On Tuesday, they drew 1-1 at Tooting and Mitcham, with Graeme Purdy on target.
