Met Police vs Woking
Pre Season Friendly
Saturday 12th July 2025
13:00 Kick-Off

Neal Ardley, Simon Bassey and Jody Brown have been very busy over the summer, with new additions including Luke Hall from Worksop Town, Jack Turner from Queens Park, Caleb Richards from Kidderminster and Aaron Drewe from Oxford City. It was a serious coup to bring Chin Okoli back permanently, whilst just one of the players in discussions with the club over a new deal has left in the form of Rochdale bound Dan Moss.

So what can be expected of the Cards in this fixture? It is likely that a squad featuring academy products and trialists amongst the first team will travel to Imber Court for what promises to be a scorcher with temperatures shooting past 30c, so there will be a focus on minutes in the tank above all else.

Come down on Saturday to see Woking in action again and catch a glimpse of the new signings!

Opposition Watch

Met Police FC do not actually feature any policemen in their ranks, nor have they done for some time. Based in the very impressive Imber Court Sports Club, current Enfield Town manager Gavin MacPherson had the Met just minutes away from National League South football back in 2019 when they were devastatingly beaten by Tonbridge Angels in a one off Super Playoff Final, but financial struggles meant a voluntary demotion to step four back in 2023, where they finished 16th last season.

Despite these struggles, the Met boast impressive academy pedigree, with the likes of former Port Vale playmaker Ethan Chislett and current Northampton man Nesta Guinness-Walker to name a couple. They’ve also won their opening two pre season games against Spelthorne Sports and Camberley Town, so will be high on confidence given this will be Woking’s first game back.

Around the Ground

Please note that this fixture is a 1pm kick off.

Ticket prices are as follows: £10 Adults / £5 Concessions and Over 65’s / Under 11’s £0, please note that the stadium itself is cash only.

Food and drink will be available, but Imber Court is cash only at the gate and around the ground. However, you will be able to pay for any drinks at the bar just metres away from the ground by card.

One to Watch

Alfie Walters is an international with the Seychelles, having graduated from the Met Police academy. A versatile defender, Walters has been retained for this season and will hope to shut out an experienced Woking strikeforce.
