The left-sided defender, 26, joins on an initial one-year deal following his departure from National League North side Kidderminster Harriers, with a club option for a further year.
A Blackpool academy graduate, Richards made his first team debut for the Tangerines in an EFL Cup game against Wigan Athletic in August 2017. He would depart for Norwich City in 2018, where he was loaned out several times, including a stint in the USL Championship with Tampa Bay Rowdies, before a successful loan to Kidderminster turned permanent in March 2021.
Across four and a half seasons at Harriers, Richards made 216 appearances for the club, winning both Young Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season for 2021/22 and then playing a key part in Harriers’ promotion to the National League. Richards announced his departure from the club in late May and will now join the Cards, hoping to strengthen the left side of defence.
Director of Football Jody Brown said, “Caleb was one of the left-backs we had targeted from the start, his data was very good, and watching him in the play-offs this year allowed us to see his strengths live.”
“Having spoken with him at length, his personality and character feel right.”
Caleb is available for player sponsorship for the 2025/26 season. Contact commercial@wokingfc.co.uk for more details.
