Woking 1-1 Brighton U21s
National League Cup
Laithwaite Community Stadium
25th November 2025
A subdued start to this make or break National League Cup game for the Cards saw just one chance for either side inside the first twenty minutes after excellent play between Caleb Richards and Josh Osude saw the latter volley wide.
When Osude was played in behind by Richards just before the half hour mark had passed, he raced in behind with frightening pace before firing low and straight at Nils Ramming in the Brighton net.
Half-Time: Woking 0-0 Brighton U21s
Brighton took the lead with their first chance of the game, and it was a well worked move which saw the ball crossed low into Younes Ibrahim. He fired low past Craig Ross to break the deadlock.
Neal Ardley responded with several changes, and one of them, Olly Sanderson, should have scored when Aaron Drewe picked him out inside the box, but his header flashed wide.
Woking were awarded a penalty with just four minutes left when Caleb Richards’ shot was driven into the arms of Ibrahim. Josh Kelly, another substitute, stepped up to slot down the middle.
Craig Ross was forced into a great save from Ibrahim, who spurned the chance to win it by firing straight at the Woking keeper and forcing penalties for the extra point.
Sanderson, Kelly, Turner and Andrews all scored, with Ross saving two, to give the Cards the extra point and a 4-2 penalty win.
