Aldershot Town vs Woking
Enterprise National League
Saturday 22nd November 2025
12:30 Kick Off
In a weekend where bitter rivals Australia and England kick off the Ashes, Arsenal and Tottenham go for Premier League bragging rights and Sheffield United take on inner city foes Sheffield Wednesday, the Surrey-Hampshire derby promises yet another instalment of a series that has become non league’s fiercest rivalry.
Neal Ardley will take his side back to the EBB Stadium after the heartbreak of last season’s FA Trophy semi final, but it would be easy to forget that Ardley’s second game in charge of the Cards was a 2-2 thriller last Boxing Day.
After a very youthful Woking side were knocked out of the Surrey Senior Cup, most of the first team squad should be available for this one, with Aiden O’Brien and Sam Ashford returning to action in the defeat to Cobham. Josh Osude played the full 90 minutes, scoring the only goal for the Cards, his pace off the bench could be an important factor.
Opposition Watch
Currently sitting 23rd in the table, you would be forgiven for thinking now is a perfect time to play the Shots, who have just one win since August. However, John Coleman’s side have played five games since he was appointed manager, and although they have been on the losing end, all five league games have been against top seven sides, with a 1-0 defeat at Rochdale last time out seeing Dale fans praise Coleman’s side for their performance.
Defeat in the FA Cup at Weston-Super-Mare was a damaging result especially considering Chelmsford away in the next round would present a straightforward route to round three, but Coleman is still working his side out after being appointed manager following the swift departure of Tommy Widdrington to Eastbourne Borough.
Josh Barrett has missed the last four games through injury and it’s unknown whether he will feature on Saturday, whilst a mounting injury list has seen the Shots struggle to pick a settled side all season. Coleman has also opted to drop Marcus Dewhurst in goal for Pat Nash, a decision that has surprised a few in North Hampshire. Former Woking boss Alan Dowson left the club after joining as Widdrington’s first team coach, overseeing two defeats as caretaker manager.

One to Watch
With Josh Barrett’s status unknown, Ryan Jones is one to watch, with the versatile wide player back from an injury suffered against the Cards last season. Having started the last five games, he’s a key player under Coleman and will provide a threat.
