Woking 1-1 Brackley Town
Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round
Laithwaite Community Stadium
11th October 2025
A second half debut goal from Woking’s new signing Ashley Boatswain was enough to send this FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round fixture to a replay. The on-loan Ipswich Town player was one of five substitutes that changed the game on the hour mark to make sure Neal Ardley’s side will be on the draw come Monday night.
“We couldn’t move the ball quick enough and were very tepid [in the first half]. We had some stern words at half time and then started well in the second half” said the Woking manager. He later added, “We took a risk making all five substitutions and changing shape but we looked more likely to go on and win.”
Of those changes, Jake Forster-Caskey’s quick corner was headed home by Boatswain to send the crowd into relief as much as ruptures. The Cards went on to look like the team that would get over the line, but it was Tunji Akinola who had two goal saving tackles that made sure Brackley wouldn’t steal their place in the draw.
Woking can look forward to knowing what the prize awaiting for them come Tuesday night’s game will be, but know a difficult challenge will be awaiting them first.
