Woking vs Scunthorpe United
Enterprise National League
Saturday 20th December 2025
12:30 Kick-Off
Neal Ardley’s side will aim to close the gap between themselves and their visitors on Saturday as the Cards face another tough test at the Laithwaite in the form of the Iron.
Following on from last weekend’s win over AFC Totton, Ardley will have a selection headache as Jake Forster-Caskey, Matt Ward and Tariq Hinds all started and are now back in the mix for the starting eleven tomorrow, but the expression that you don’t change a winning team could ring true after the win at Carlisle last week.
With this being the last game before Christmas and a huge chance for the Cards to put some pressure on those above them, come down to the Laithwaite and help Woking go eleven unbeaten in the league!
Opposition Watch
Promoted in dramatic fashion via the National League North playoffs, Scunthorpe were considered as dark horses by a few this season due to the strength of their squad, but Andy Butler’s side have outdone expectations by some distance.
A club now on the up after years of turmoil, any Woking fan can attest to their experience up in Lincolnshire in August as a football club transformed by new ownership and with a real buzz around it. With a setup now befitting of a former Championship team, expectations at the Iron are that of a playoff side.
Recent slip ups at Solihull and Altrincham now have Scunthorpe looking over their shoulders as the chasing pack closes in, and with Hartlepool away on Boxing Day, two slip ups will see them falter but two wins will see them secure their spot in the top seven even further.
With five players on five or more goals, this is clearly a squad that can score all around the pitch, a mix of players of all ages with the experience of Danny Whitehall partnered with former Gainsborough man Declan Howe and Cal Roberts on the wing.

One to Watch
Leicester academy graduate Oli Ewing has taken Scunthorpe by storm. A technically gifted midfielder, he made his return from injury against Tamworth last time out from the bench, and was consistently one of the Iron’s best players until then, chipping in with two goals.
