Woking vs Southend United
Enterprise National League
Wednesday 5th November 2025
19:45 Kick-Off
Woking will host Southend United on Bonfire Night with the Cards hoping for fireworks after a week off.
Neal Ardley has had eleven days to work with his players since the Rochdale game, and all barring Josh Osude, Matt Ward, Craig Ross and Inih Effiong were omitted from the Surrey Senior Cup at home to Lingfield.
Osude is serving the last game of his three game suspension from the Brackley FA Cup replay, with Ardley hoping that the rest has done some of his players the world of good ahead of a difficult proposition in Southend.
Opposition Watch
Southend’s season went on far longer than they might have expected a few months before they were cruelly defeated at Wembley by Oldham Athletic after extra time, with the Shrimpers just falling short of a long awaited EFL return.
Kevin Maher’s side currently sit sixth in the National League having won eight of fifteen games thus far, after a faultless October saw three league wins and progression in the FA Cup.
November has started on a sour note, with a second away defeat at Wealdstone this season seeing their FA Cup campaign end 1-0, and Ben Goodliffe was sent off which means they will be slightly lighter at the back for this one.
One of Southend’s summer signings was former Card Slavi Spasov, joining from Slough whom the Bulgarian scored for last season against Woking. Andrew Dallas will face off against his former manager, as well as attacking left sided defender Harry Boyes, as Ardley managed both at Solihull Moors, but the Shrimpers’ star man is an obvious choice.
Two of the last three fixtures between these sides have been 0-0 draws, with Cav Miley sent off at the Laithwaite in last season’s stalemate.

One to Watch
Gus Scott-Morriss is a right sided defender who netted seventeen league goals last season, including a quite brilliant finish in the Shrimpers’ 2-2 draw with the Cards, and has three so far this season.
