Match Reports and Team Details – Week commencing 13th October 2025

Wednesday 15th October

Hungerford Town 1 – 2 Woking U18 (Half-time: 0 – 1): Suburban Football League – Premier Division

Bulpit Lane, Hungerford

Woking took a two-goal lead in this fixture, and although the hosts got one back the visitors were reasonably comfortable in seeing out the victory. Hungerford fielded a much older team than Woking’s Second Years, so a good result as the Cards look to move upwards from their mid-table position.

Woking: Jools Lacey, Jack McGibbon, Oliver Rigby, Dillan Davies, Joe Frawley, Amario Malhotra, Leo Christophers, Calum Mathieson (Louie Boyle 66), Hayden Vally, Seyi Akinwalere (Joel Jennison-Leppa 75), Jalil Page. Unused substitutes: James Moore (GK), Frankie Bushby, Jack Tricker.

Goals: Davies 16, Malhotra 58.

Thursday 16th October

Aldershot Town 0 – 2 Westfield (represented by Woking U17)

Allied Counties League – West Division

Hartley Wintney FC, The Memorial Fields

Report from Ian Tilley

An unchanged sixteen made it three wins from three at the start of the league season with as straightforward a performance as one could hope for, albeit against a younger Shots’ side.

It took Westfield a little while to get the upper hand, but Johnson and Munden combined well for the former to shoot over on 12 minutes, and Bailey shot narrowly wide on 21 minutes. Aldershot did look to get forwards but were often caught offside, although Williams did get through to shoot over on 27 minutes.

On 30 minutes Munden brought a good save from Shaw after a fine pass from Salman, whilst Kelly covered well when Aldershot looked like breaking through.

On 40 minutes some great wing play from Munden set up Westfield’s opener, Fisher finishing from inside the six-yard box when the ball was pulled back to him from the bye-line. Field nearly had a second before the half was out, but Thomas and Bailey both shot wide.

Half-time: Aldershot 0 – 1 Westfield

Aldershot changed to a back four as they looked to reduce the impact that Thomas and Munden were having getting in behind the wing-backs, but Field adjusted well to the new challenge and soon had a chance, Fisher hitting the outside of the stanchion with a powerful shot.

Fisher was not to be denied on 55 minutes, Johnson putting him through with a fine slide-rule pass, and the forward knocking the ball past the onrushing Shaw with enough power to cross the line before the chasing defenders could reach it.

The result now seemed beyond doubt, with the biggest threat to Westfield’s victory coming from Aldershot temporarily running out of match balls after 75 minutes and the referee threatening an abandonment.

But the win was closed out without too much concern, Trickett covering well when Aldershot did look to have a chance. A very pleasing result against our old friends from across the county border.

Westfield: Ryan Warren, Caleb Trickett, Dylan Hosali (Byron O’Donnell 73), Jack Kelly, Daejharn Wells, Harvey Johnson (Arthur Pereira 62), Finn Salman (C), Max Thomas (Zack McColl-Eljanfali 67), Ben Bailey, Harry Munden (Logan Jacques 67), Joe Fisher. Unused substitute: Callum Collins (GK).

Goals: Fisher 40, 55.

Tuesday 14th October

Tom Dryer, Midfield, EDS – Westfield: Played the full game in the 3 – 2 victory at AFC Portchester in the Isthmian League South Central Division (Step 4). After Portchester had pegged back a 2 – 0 Westfield lead, Tom continued his run of fine, goalscoring form with the 79th minute winner, knocking the ball home after a goalmouth scramble.

Saturday 18th October

Tom Dryer, Midfield, EDS – Westfield: Played the full game in the 7 – 0 victory over Hayes & Yeading United in the Isthmian League South Central Division (Step 4). Tom was once again one of the shining lights in an incredible game. His clever first time through ball put in Finn Evans for the opener, and he got the second himself, tapping in from a few yards after a Gogonas throw in had caused a goalmouth scramble. Tom also got the fourth on the stroke of half-time, a fine finish when there did not appear to be enough space, drifting past a defender and knocking it beyond Watkins as he closed the angle. Tom did miss a couple of chances to complete his hat-trick, but that should not detract from another fine display. Tom now has seven goals in his last six Westfield games, to add to his eleven EDS goals this season.
