Woking Football Club would like to address the situation that unfolded during Monday’s match regarding the Chris Lane Terrace.
The health, safety, and well-being of all supporters is always our top priority. During the first half, our health and safety officials, including the ambulance service, raised genuine concerns over the growing number of heat-related incidents in the away section. They also expressed concern that access for medical staff was limited.
In the interest of the health and welfare, we were encouraged to allow away fans to spread across the full Chris Lane Stand. This unfortunately meant that home supporters in that area had to be relocated at short notice. We fully recognise that this was disruptive and frustrating, and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Since Monday, we have made structural adjustments to the Chris Lane Stand to ensure that, if a similar situation arises in future, we will not need to close the section to home supporters. While our new seating plan is still a work in progress, we are learning and making improvements each week.
We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these details, and we thank you for your incredible support.
